The OC 705 is popular due to the product’s strength and rigidity. It is often used in bass trap and sound absorber designs, or as an alternative to 703 rigid fiberglass board when a stronger and more durable surface is desired. Due to the 1" thickness, the 705 does have a lower NRC rating of .065.
