4-inch Open-Back Bass Traps

Thicker panels absorb more low frequencies. They can be mounted flat on walls, but for maximum performance at low frequencies, mount across a corner or with an air gap behind the panel. These 4-inch panels have fabric instead of wood backs so the air gap can work. Technically speaking it allows a node at the wall so the absorbent material of the panel is closer to an anti-node at low frequencies.

When you order you can select Full-Range or Low-Range. Full-range versions reduce low, mid, and high frequency reverb in the room. Low-range versions absorb extra bass but less mids and highs, to help balance your room. For most applications we recommend full-range bass traps, unless you want to avoid reducing the mid- and high-frequency reverb in the room.
